Judge's Critiques

MINOR PUPPY DOG  (3 entries  -  1 absent)

1st  -  Mr. & Mrs. I & H. Devey's TRENDLEWOOD FREEDOM  Lovely baby, just 6 months on the day and just perfect for me at this age. Good solid bone and substance, super head and expression, good reach of neck and nice shoulders. Well-muscled quarters and correct tail set. Moved really well and showed lovely friendly outgoing temperament.

2nd  -  Mr. A. R. Lane's SHEENARON MERRY WIZARD  Another very happy puppy, very close to first in every way. Sound and well-balanced. Moved and showed really well.

1st  -  Miss J. Moody's TRENDLEWOOD FINN THE ESKIMO Powerful young dog in super coat and condition. Masculine, but kind, head and expression. Well-muscled neck, level topline and well turned stifle. Moved and showed really well.

1st  -  Mrs. J. Price's CONINGSBEAR SANDBOURNE  Nice big yellow dog with the kindest of heads Good reach of neck, well laid back shoulders, level topline and powerful quarters. Correct tailset. Moved and showed well.

1st  -  Mr. & Mrs. G. & C. Brewer's COCKTAIL LAD  Super young dog in great coat and condition.  Good solid bone and substance, lovely kind head and expression, well muscled neck, level topline and strong driving quarters. Nice friendly outgoing temperament. Moved really well when we sorted out his tendency to pace.

2nd  -  Mr. & Mrs. D.L. & F.E.M. Braddon's TRENDLEWOOD SNOWMAN  Super puppy of real quality presented in great coat and condition. Lovely outline when standing and on the move. Kind head and expression, good reach of neck, level topline and well muscled driving quarters. BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

2nd  -  Mr. & Mrs. J. & B.H. Follant's CONINGSBEAR BARRINGTON  Lovely big yellow dog with the kindest of heads, expressions and temperament Well laid back shoulders and powerful quarters. Good solid bone and plenty, and I do mean plenty, of substance.

UNDERGRADUATE DOG  (6 entries  -  2 absent)

1st  -  Miss A. Devereux's LABWEILER MIDNIGHT BROCADE Super black of real quality. Masculine, but kind, head and expression. Good reach of neck, well laid back shoulders, level topline and powerful driving quarters. Correct tailset and nice tight feet. Moved and showed really well.

2nd  -  Mr. & Mrs. R.L. & S.J. Price's ABBEYBROOK AGAINST ALL ODDS Lovely black with nice kind head and expression, good reach of neck, level topline and powerful quarters. Moved well. Full of fun and enjoyed the occasion.

3rd  -  ROWANHOL SANTA ANA STORM

1st  -  Mr. & Mrs. D.L. & F.E.M. Braddon's TRENDLEWOOD ONLY TO FLY JW Super quality black in great hard condition. Masculine, but not overdone, head and expression. Well muscled neck, correct well laid back shoulders, level topline, powerful driving quarters. Moved and showed really well.

2nd  -  Mrs. P. A. Davies' HOLMAJOR DRUMMER BOY  Very close to first in every way. A quality well balanced sound dog throughout. Kind head and expression. Moved and showed really well.

Good reach of neck and well laid back shoulders. Level topline. Powerful quarters. A joy to watch on the move. A quality well-balanced dog throughout,

VETERAN DOG OR BITCH  (7 entries  -  3 absent)

1st  -  Mrs. D.L.Goodall's BOWSTONES MORNING STAR OVER BEAVERBROOK I liked everything about this super quality black dog. I have judged him before and he never fails to please. Presented in super fit, hard condition, masculine but not overdone head, powerful neck, going into well laid back shoulders and level topline standing and on the move. Well muscled driving quarters, super outline when standing, sound as a bell and still a super mover. BEST DOG AND RESERVE BEST IN SHOW

2nd  -  Mrs. M. Young's LANGDALE GOOSEBERRY  Lovely yellow bitch,with the sweetest of heads and expressions. Good reach of neck, level topline and strong quarters. Moved well and really enjoyed her day out.
